If you enjoy the Spider-Man films starring Tom Holland, you undoubtedly want to see more of the actor and his web-slinging persona.

Will a fresh film, however, hit theatres? Or was there a chance for a sequel eradicated like a bug?

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, what took place?

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, who had played Spider-Man previously but had not done so for some years, joined Tom Holland’s Spidey in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

When Doctor Strange unintentionally created portals to the Multi-Verse, they as well as other villains from Spider-past Man’s showed up on the scene. Thankfully, order was reinstated, but there were tragic moments throughout the film.

Aunt May tragically perished in a violent confrontation with the Green Goblin, and at the conclusion of the film, Doctor Strange erased the memories of Peter’s friends so they would no longer know him or his secret identity.

Will Spider-Man have a third instalment?

The fourth Spider-Man movie will happen, according to Marvel President Kevin Feige and veteran Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal, but they haven’t said when.

Tom Rothman, the CEO of Sony, has also raised the prospect of another film. He stated the following in a Deadline interview:

There are the Spider-Man films, and Lord and Miller and I are currently working on two Spider-Verse prequels to our Academy Award–winning animated film. We plan to begin production on the upcoming Spider-Man film.

Of course, there is a potential that Tom Holland won’t be in the sequel if and when it is made available.

Apart from the fact that he’s reportedly taking a sabbatical from acting, he also claimed No Way Home was his last Spider-Man film. He stated to Deadline:

A lot of the emotion in this movie came from the act of saying goodbye, which is one of the major themes, so there was definitely a sense for me as an actor that this might be the last time I could possibly wear the outfit.

It’s possible that a new story about Miles Morales, the other Marvel comics character who assumed the role of Spider-Man, is created separately from the animated Spider-Verse films if Tom doesn’t return for another Spider-Man film.

Personally, I believe Tom Holland will make a comeback, but until there is official confirmation, all we can do is guess.

What might the upcoming Spider-Man film be about?

The memory wipe that affected everyone who knew Peter Parker at the end of the previous film will probably cause him to live apart from the Avengers and his pals, MJ and Ned, if Tom Holland does decide to reprise his role as Peter Parker.

As a result, a brand-new enemy and cast of characters for Spidey/Peter to deal with may usher in a brand-new chapter in the life of Spider-Man.

The storyline might centre on Miles Morales, whom Peter trains to become the next Spider-Man, if Tom decides to make the new film his final. This would open the door for a brand-new trilogy of films with Miles as the main character.

When might the newest Spider-Man film be available?

On June 7th, 2024, Sony is scheduled to release an undisclosed Marvel film; hence, this could be the day Spider-Man returns to action.

Obviously, this could also be the release date for Venom 3 or the much awaited Morbius 2 (just kidding), or it might be the release date for another film that Sony is working on, like The Sinister Six, which is most likely to include Venom and Morbius.

At this point, all we can do is conjecture, but we intend to update this page as soon as further details about the upcoming Spider-Man film are made public.
